Rebuilding Iraq's Legal System

Hatley points out an interesting article at law.com, Toward an Iraqi Legal System which gives an overview of the current corrupt system and some ideas on the process of reform. Very interesting reading. Related is Paddy Ashdown's article in Tuesday's Guardian, "What Baghdad can learn from Bosnia" in which he argues for urgent restoration of the rule of law reflecting on the successes and failures of 'nation building' in Bosnia.

There is an Iraq Law primer at gulf-law.com which provides some background and there are some good links at the Law Library of Congress: Iraq.
