An uneasy relationship: United Nations and New York City

Now as we all know from diligent viewing of the West Wing (Season 4, Episode 10 - Arctic Radar - Bartlett: "There are big signs! You can't park there! They should get towed! I hope they get towed to Queens and the Triboro is closed and there's a big craft show at Shea, a flea market or a tractor show!") the relationship between the United Nations and its adopted home city of New York is not an easy one. The Gotham Gazette has a run down of how a proposal for land development is turning into a referendum on the United Nations in NYC. I'm sure the powers that be in the US will do what they can to keep the UN where it is, or at least to keep it in the US. Easier to keep an eye on it that way.
