JibJab animators capitalise on success

There's an interesting article over at CNET News which talks about the JibJab folks (creators of the amazing 'This Land' parody animation) and the payment model they are using. The $2.99 download has apparently been successful which, like the 99 cent song download from iTunes, verges on being 'micro payments' for digital content. Payments for amounts like these are almost viable using existing infrastructure, we still don't however have a ubiquitous infrastructure for true micro payments as advocated by Jakob Nielsen six years ago.
