Edinburgh Military Tattoo

The sensation that is the Edinburgh Military Tattoo has apparently sold out in record time - all 210,000 tickets are now gone 5 weeks earlier than the previous record. The Edinburgh Military Tatoo runs from the 6th to the 28th of August and will feature

The Royal Air Force including their renowned Massed Military Bands and Queen's Colour Squadron together with the world-famous Massed Pipes & Drums, Massed Highland Dancers, the haunting sound of the Lone Piper, and acts from across the globe, including India, South Africa, New Zealand and the Far East played in the unique setting of historic Edinburgh Castle.
Next year, in addition to Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo will visit Sydney, Australia in February (3rd, 4th and 5th) to perform a 'Salute to Australia' - only the second time the Tattoo has been performed elsewhere. It visited Wellington, New Zealand in 2000.

N.B. "Tattoo" in this context means a drumbeat or bugle call that signals the military to return to their quarters.
