War against poverty

The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown says that Drugs are just the start.

He advocates not that world leaders get stoned and sort it all out, although that might work too, but rather, "At Cancun and then Dubai the world should seize the chance to eradicate poverty and make good our responsibilities to the poorest of the world."

It's probably easier to take the moral high ground when you know that you're not going to have to do anything about it.
