Charitable Scots

Apparently the Scots are readiest givers to charity out of the whole of the UK.

"The Scots are the most generous people in Britain, according to a report today on charitable giving that challenges the long-standing jibe of southerners about meanness north of the border.

A poll for the British Heart Foundation found only 2% of Scots admitted never giving to charity, compared with 8% in London and the north-west of England."

There's obviously a difference between being mean and just being canny with your money.
