A friend of mine once suggested you can tell a lot about a person by the objects they surround themselves with. So perhaps a clean flat indicates an empty person. Having said that I'm not sure what a dozen half emptied beer cans, a couple of silver tikka masala trays and several spent marlboro light packs says about a person.
