The Lighthouse

Went to Glasgow on Saturday and visited The Lighthouse, "one of Europe's largest Architecture, Design centres." It was pretty cool. It's situated just off Buchanan Street near to Borders bookshop in a building designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Sadly I didn't have too much time there (<1hour) and so only saw their exhibition on "common-place" which was kind of an exploration of concepts which inform planning open spaces in towns and cities. Pretty cool.

Also climbed a huge spiral stair to the top of "the lighthouse" and took some cool pictures looking down on Glasgow. I love seeing buildings from places that you wouldn't ordinarily look from, you tend to see the stuff that was hidden because it was ugly but on occassion you spot a building which is beautiful because the whole is beautiful, not just the facade.

Great place. Liked it a lot. The shop looked cool too tho' I didn't bother with that due to time. Got to go back.
